Getting Joggy with Chase Allen
As this year’s football season comes to a close, we got moving with Chase Allen — Tight End for the Chicago Bears. He shares more about how he stays active during off-season + what he likes to do when he’s not on the field.
What does your day to day look like as a professional athlete?
"We are currently in-season, so my daily movement is going to practice. There is a built in community between the players and coaches. Each day we are working with our minds & bodies to try and sort out the approach for our next opponent."
Do you have specific tools you use or rituals you practice to support your active lifestyle?
"My pre & post practice routines such as hip circuits, breath exercises, and hot/cold tub intervals. My body is vital to my success and longevity in my football career, as I get older these extra routines help keep me on the field."
"The off-season can be a struggle to find motivation when you mostly want to rest & reset. It’s been crucial for me to train with other people to keep it fun & hold me accountable."
How do you like to use Joggy products in your routine?
"The Joy Stick has been extremely helpful with the new aches & pains I acquire each day. I like to apply it before I start my stretching routine and again before bed. Ready Steady has also been beneficial in the evening for unwinding and preparing for the next day."
What inspires you to get moving when your motivation is low?
"The off-season can be a struggle to find motivation when you mostly want to rest & reset. It’s been crucial for me to train with other people to keep it fun & hold me accountable. I also like to change up the way I move during this time: swimming, biking, yoga, hiking, shootin’ hoops."
How do you tend to your body + wind down after a long day on the field?
"Child’s Pose. And a hearty meal. My favorite way to wind down is playing guitar to the likes of Billy Strings, James Taylor, Tyler Childers."
